Saturday, I ran a local 10K, the 37th 10K of my life, according to my racing log, but first one since my resurfacing.  It was my fastest 10K since 2007.  Still not as fast as I feel I should be, but just to be out in the middle of the pack racing hard was wonderful. 

Just two weeks ago, I ran 10.5 miles, totalling 30.5 for the week, both represented high marks in 2 years, as I ramp up my mileage for a fall half marathon.

Finally, also last week (Thursday), I participated in our running club's 200-meter challenge and ran a 30.45.  Being 54 years old, that translates to a 25.62 age-graded 200-meter dash time (if that means anything to you) and was the fastest in my running club.

As always, I thank Pat for this site and the wealth of information contained herein, I thank Dr. Su for his expertise and, as always, Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) for letting me live an active life after surgery without any painful or activity reducing scar tissue to get in the way.

I can imagine how good you must have felt as you ran your way through your first 10k post-op.

My hip went bad when I started doing triathlons. My running volume isn't where it was (9mos post op), but I'm getting there. Up to 4-10 mi at a time now. Not fast but consistent. I can always work on speed, but need to get the strength there first.
