Hi everyone, I just wanted to give an update in case there are other runners looking to make a come back. I started with the surface hippie to 5k plan on my 3rd month. Dr. De Smet gives the green light earlier than most surgeons. The beginning was rough. I had a lot of pinching which I realized was the muscle around my scar contracting. I've followed the plan religiously, do my PT exercises and stretching. I'm now 5 months post op and running 8 full minutes with no pain. I could probably go longer, but am being really cautious. It feels so good to be out running again after not be able to for over a year. And mostly, it feels good to be running pain free after so long!!! Thanks to everyone here for their support. I'm starting to feel like me again when a year ago I was told I'd never run again.
