Hi guys,

I'm booked for the surgery on next week.
I'd like to carefully take care of the incision and then of the scar.

My point is to make sure that tissues will be softs, so I planned to massage the scar when it will possible.
I would like also to try to reduce to the maximum the size of the scar if this is possible.

When can I start to apply some products on the scar and eventually massage it ?
I've read that Bio Oil is great for scars.

What is your experience and what would you recommend please ?

Thanks !

Different surgeons have different protocols. Some cover in waterproof dressing. It gets removed and staples too about 2-3 weeks.

I wouldn't start massaging personally until week 5 or 6 when you're going to probably get green light for swimming etc.
