How quickly did you get back to surfing?

Hi everyone,

I got my left hip resurfaced a little over a month ago. My surgeon lifts all restrictions at three months so I am still hoping to catch some easy waves end of summer/early autumn, so September/October (I am in Europe, planning to be in Portugal then).

If there are any surfers still around here... how long did it take you to get back on the board in a comfortable way? Do you have any other wisdom to share in terms of getting back in the water? I was thinking 4-5 months after surgery and starting with a big log might be possible.
